anyone can do it
You can do a Yoga Nidra just about anywhere (except while driving a car!). It can be done sitting upright in a chair, stretched out on a couch or in bed. Some of my clients prefer just a yoga mat or towel on the floor. Make sure, wherever you choose, it is a place where you will feel completely relaxed. A quiet space. No distractions. No smartwatch or phone ringer on. Take that time for yourself. You deserve it.
what can you expect?
I begin each Yoga Nidra meditation session with a 2-3 minute tension-and-releasing technique or sometimes I begin with an asana (body posture) to bring awareness to the body. These techniques takes outward-focused attention and start bringing it inward. These are small movements that help you to immediately feel the relaxation sensation. They give your body permission to let go as we begin our guided journey down through the brainwave states. My guidance is interspersed with moments of silence; we rest 4-6 minutes, sometimes longer, in the deepest part of our descent. Then, I slowly bring you back up to the surface of awareness and tell you we have completed the experience and at that point you can open your eyes. You will want a blanket or a throw nearby, as well as a scarf or eye pillow to place over your eyes when instructed. Your body temperature will drop a little during the Yoga Nidra experience.

what is yoga nidra?
Yoga... meaning union...Nidra..meaning sleep. Yoga Nidra is a meditation technique that uses the biological process of sleep for a spiritual purpose. It is a tool that incorporates breath, body and awareness. These techniques allow us to drop down through the brainwave states, below the chatter of our mind. Once we distance ourselves from the chatter and thoughts... then our true nature can be revealed.
I invite you to take 40 mins for yourself and experience an I AM Yoga Nidra™ guided meditation. That space within... is waiting for you.
